This year is the year of the horse...Hei-no-go

This is Science Home Soka store. Today, we will introduce this year's zodiac sign, "Bingo Horse."

[Bei-go] Hinoe-uma

This is a combination of zodiac signs that occurs once every 60 years, and refers to the year in which the Ten Heavenly Stems (Hinoe) and the Zodiac Sign (Uma) coincide.

*What are the ten heavenly stems?

A permutation of 10 elements that originated in ancient China: Kinoe (Jia), Kinoto (Yi), Hinoe (Bing), Hinoto (Ding), Tsuchinoe (Eight), Tsuchinoto (Eight), Kanoe (Geng), Kanoto (Xin), Kazunoe (Min), Mizunoto (Water)

Since both "Hei" and "Uma" have the properties of "fire," this year is considered to be one in which the energy of fire is very strong.

There is a superstition that "women born in the year of the horse have bad tempers and shorten their husbands' lifespans," and this apparently affected births, causing a drop in the birth rate in 1966 (Showa 41).

Originally, "Hei" represents the blazing sun, and "Uma" represents the horse and the height of summer, and it is said to be a year filled with passion, brilliance, drive, and energy. It is a powerful time when new challenges and big changes are likely to occur, so 2026 (Reiwa 8) is said to be a year of transition in which things will start to move forward in a big way and a new flow will be born.
