This is Science Home Soka store. Today, we will introduce "Yutaki".

 

 

 

 

 

The other day, I went to see a waterfall for the first time in a while!

This waterfall is located in Oku-Nikko, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, and is considered one of the three most famous waterfalls in Oku-Nikko, along with Kegon Falls and Ryuzu Falls!

 

 

 

 

 

Other waterfalls in Oku-Nikko include Urami Falls and Kirifuri Falls.

This is my personal favorite waterfall.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yutaki is a waterfall that flows down from Lake Yunoko (a lake formed when a river was dammed up by the eruption of Mt. Mitake), so it was named Yutaki, which simply means "hot waterfall."

 

 

 

 

 

First and foremost, the waterfall is 70 meters high and 110 meters long, and the best thing about it is that you can get a close-up look at the power of the water as it flows down the cliffs of the Mitake River, which dammed the Yukawa River and created Lake Yunoko, from the observation deck right in front of the basin!

 

 

 

 

 

It happened to be a rainy day when I went, but on rainy days and after rain, the waterfall has more water and is full of negative ions.

 

 

 

 

 

Just between you and me...

Normally, about one ton of water flows down the waterfall every second.

But when you say 1 ton, it's a little hard to understand, right? (laughs)
