🌲A two-family wooden house with a breeze
Hello. This is Science Home Nagareyama store.
Mr. S, who works in electrical construction, has been involved in the construction of many homes and was excited about building his own house.
However, "I couldn't find anyone who could propose the designs I had in mind."
It was at this time that I attended a tour, and that's how I encountered Science Home.
The 6m-tall step at the entrance was cut from a single log of Japanese Tenryu cedar that Mikata-san found. The remaining wood was used as the tread of the stairs.
"It was a time when I had almost given up on building a house,
I thought it would be impossible this time too.
However, I was touched by his enthusiasm to "draw the blueprints."
I decided to ask to see the rough plans."
↑The Japanese-style room is designed with a split-level floor. "The space below is for our pet dog," says Mr. S.
The earthen floor entrance leads to the living/dining/kitchen area, and a large opening lets in the view to the north.
The hallway incorporates the traditional "naguri" finish.
It was exactly what Mr. S had been hoping for.
↑The hallway is accented with a panel (on the left wall) that has a wavy, "naguri" finish, which was Mr. S's preference.
"What surprised me was the tatami space in the entrance. When I asked why (※1), they told me about traditional Japanese architecture.
This home truly exceeds what we were hoping for."
The whole family seemed very satisfied.
*The entrance is the face of the house and the first space to welcome family and guests.
Tatami mats are a type of flooring that have been used in Japanese homes for a long time. Their soft texture and calming atmosphere are
It gives a sense of warmth and comfort to the entrance.
Tatami mats are also breathable and resistant to moisture, making them suitable for places with a lot of traffic, such as entrance halls.
↑A house with a large storage storehouse.
With so much storage space, you can keep your home neat and tidy.
The playfulness of the craftsman scattered throughout the house comes to life.
↑With a bamboo design on the ceiling and plaster-painted walls, a toilet space reminiscent of a famous inn has been created.
↑We propose a round window that beautifully frames the scenery inside the room.
The charm of "Japanese" is incorporated to the fullest.
