What is a front porch?

 

 

This is the space under the roof or eaves in front of the entrance, and serves to block rain, wind, and sunlight.

 

 

Role: Blocks rain, wind and sunlight, and allows for smooth entry and exit

 

 

Function: Prevents deterioration of entrance doors and building materials and improves the appearance

 

 

Uses: Stroller and bicycle parking, a place to display plants

 

 

Design: From simple designs with just a canopy to designs with fences and walls

 

 

Things to consider when planning your entrance porch

 

 

*Provide enough space for 2-3 people to accommodate visitors and when the family goes out together.

 

 

*Providing a roof (eaves) protects against rain, wind and strong sunlight

 

 

*Lighting will include downlights under the eaves, porch lights, outdoor footlights, etc.

 

 

*Floors and tiles should be non-slip and easy to clean.

 

 

 

If you design a screen in front of your entrance porch, you can prevent passersby from seeing the inside of your house when you open the door, so we recommend a tall wall or a lattice-type screen fence that reduces the feeling of oppression while allowing air and light to pass through and blocking views.
