Adding ideas for enjoying life to a nostalgic space

"Facilities and functionality are important, but I thought about how to build a house from the perspective of how I would live," said Mr. T. The home was completed with a theme of "neo-nostalgia," reminiscent of the Taisho era, and a touch of oriental flair.

The kitchen back storage and pantry are unified with wooden lattice doors, giving it a very retro feel. The uniquely shaped dining table is docked with the kitchen, and the efficiency of housework was also considered. A magnetic whiteboard is installed on the wall next to the kitchen counter. Children's drawings and picture letters pinned to the counter make for tasteful interior decor.

When you stand in the kitchen, the dining table is to the right and the bathroom and laundry room are to the left, so traffic flow has been calculated to be convenient. "The kids are always running around" on the catwalk on the second floor, which people can use to get around, says Mr. T. From the open-ceiling living room, you can sense the presence of the family spending time on the second floor. Mr. T's study, located at the back of the master bedroom, makes good use of the compact space with fixed shelves and a built-in desk. The attic storage area has a playful floor with a snowflake pattern stenciled on it.
